Joy joined the practice as the recall coordinator in 2005 and moved to an insurance specialist in 2006. Her job is to make sure claims are filed correctly and to follow up on claims when the insurance company doesn’t pay. Joy became a CPOC (Certified Paraoptometric Coder) in 2011, the first year the certification was available, and is one of only 214 CPOCs in the United States.
